Rachel performing

Rachel McLean is a fourth year student at Ryerson studying Occupational Health and Safety. From childhood Rachel has been involved with many different organizations trying to make a difference in the world. Being a member of a church, she had the opportunity to volunteer with different outreach programs such as feeding the homeless with the Salvation Army, volunteering at the Toronto food bank, helping to create a community children’s program with Wycliffe College etc.

She has had the opportunity to travel to Vancouver, Dominican Republic and Kenya on different mission trips.

Music is in her soul. She loves to write and sing music and can play the saxophone. From an early age she discovered she had a voice and started to use it in school choirs, church and later to perform for mass audiences. (Tanya adds: Rachel has been singing for folks around the house — amazing!!)

In recent years her love for photography has grown and she hopes to develop her skills in the near future.

Rachel is excited about doing work in New Orleans and plans to continually take part with outreach opportunities.
